Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and motivation to enhancing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) products and services all through an engagement with all the company's senior professionals in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric examinations.
Of your 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% on the registered pupils in the schooling sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the expenditure national government is making inside the lives of very poor and susceptible small children is yielding a positive impact in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
